Former T.G.I.S. star Antoinette Taus clarified she and Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes did not have a child.
On May 3, during an interview with Camille Prats, Taus shed light on the issues surrounding her leaving showbiz.
Taus revealed, “Ang dami talagang hindi makaintindi kung bakit ako umalis. Nung time na ‘yun, ang dami nilang iba’t ibang theories and tsismis. Hanggang ngayon may mga tao pa ring nag-iisip na nagkaroon ako ng kids before, which there’s nothing wrong naman with that.”
She shared that she still receives questions about leaving showbiz, including whether she has had a child.
Taus clarified, “My only point is kung mayroon ako, I would be proud of my children and I would share it. Oo nga pala, hindi lang daw isa. Kasi, every time na babalik ako sa [United] States, sinasabi nila magkakaroon na naman daw ako.”
She said that if she had a child, she would not hide it.
Taus expressed, “Grabe, pumunta lang naman ako sa States kasi may pangarap din ako. Actually, what happened was, right after we moved, we also found out na nagkasakit na ‘yung mom ko, cancer. So, it kind of became something na, buti na lang din we did. Kasi, we were able to be with her throughout her whole treatment at hindi ‘yung parang we had to move during that difficult time.”
She also confessed to falling into depression after spending eight months with her mother; the reason why she stopped working in show business.
In the late ’90s, Taus and Dantes were screen lovers. Their relationship ended in the early 2000s.
They worked together on ‘T.G.I.S.’ (1997-1999), ‘Anna Karenina’ (1996-2002), ‘Honey, My Love, So Sweet’ (1999), and ‘Kiss Mo Ko’ (1999).
