On April 5, Kapuso star Ysabel Ortega recounted her experience doing her first action series.
At the Voltes V: Legacy Pocket Interview, which LionhearTV covered, Ortega responded to the challenge of her first action role through training and hardwork.
“First time ko pa lang po kasi talaga mag-action series, so it really it was a challenge for me, and I took it as a challenge rin po talaga. So nag-train po ako ng ilang buwan, and talagang pinagbutihan ko po talaga.”
As for her fight scenes, Ortega clarified that she takes on 95% of her scenes as Jaime Robinson.
“So, when it comes to fight scenes talaga, one hundred percent naman po, ako po ‘yung nagpe-perform, but of course, doon sa mga scenes na talagang magiging dangerous, or magiging haggard, that’s when we opt for the double.
“But then, siguro po, 95% of the series, talaga po of Jaime, talaga po it was really me, kasi pinaghirapan ko rin po talaga siya for more than a year and pinag-sikapan ko po talaga para ma-perform ko po ng mabuti ‘yung fight scenes.”
She also detailed her experience working with her male co-stars in the series.
“Before pa kami talaga mag-start, we always talked about this. Palagi naming shine-share na even before palang kami mag-start mag-taping noong pandemic, talagang we made it an effort po talaga na mag-bonding, and to get to know each other po talaga. So ang ganda po talaga na may close relationship na po kami talaga, before we started taping, so it wasn’t hard for me rin naman po.
“At tsaka sa aspect na puro boys ‘yung kasama ko, kasi lumaki po ako na ‘yung mga pinsan ko ay puro guys. So talagang cowboy naman po ako when it comes to that. So yeah, hindi naman po ako nahirapan and nakatulong rin po ‘yung closeness namin.”
