TAPE Incorporated’s chief finance officer (CFO) and Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos has finally set the record straight on the speculations about the future of the country’s longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga!
In an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda on Fast Talkwith Boy Abunda on Wednesday, April 19, Jalosjos categorically denied the rumors that Eat Bulaga! is off to a rebranding without its original hosts Tito, Vic, and Joey.
“I was given the green light by the board of the company to talk openly kasi I think we have the responsibility sa taumbayan as well. Ang dami pong speculations na ganito ang nangyari, and I don’t think it will ever stop unless someone address this concern.
“So now, we just want to assure the public, everyone else, that we’re coming up with… I can’t say new but a more improved Eat Bulaga!. I think we’re adding more shows, bigger prizes and more exciting segments at hindi mawawala ang TVJ [Tito, Vic, at Joey].”
Instead of rebranding, the Dapitan Mayor said that what Eat Bulaga! will undergo is “rebonding” with the executives, the staff, the hosts, and also with GMA Network.
“Actually people are talking about rebranding but ang nga joke ni Joey [De Leon] mismo, it’s not a rebranding, it’s actually a rebonding,” Jalosjos said.
“Rebonding ng kumpanya, rebonding ng pamilya sa ‘Eat Bulaga,’ rebonding ng executives, rebonding din ng GMA,” he added.
The TAPE Inc. executive also acknowledges the help given by TVJ and Tony Tuviera to them [the Jalosjos siblings] as they take an active part in running the noontime show.
“Ang laki ng pasasalamat namin and utang na loob namin sa ating mga pillars, which is Tito, Vic, and Joey and of course Tito Tony.
“They have always been a guide and they are helping us and they are continuing to assist us and to guide us during our journey as the board of the company,” Jalosjos shared.
“What we are doing right now is trying to get involved, immerse ourselves sa show.
“We haven’t been visible, we haven’t been felt, and ngayon, we need all the help we can get,” he continued.
Eat Bulaga! got embroiled in a controversy months back after rumors about Jalosjos’ takeover of the noontime show emerged.
According to rumors, former Zamboanga Cong. Romeo Jalosjos wanted Tony Tuviera and TVJ out of the noontime show to give way to new hosts Allan K, Wally Bayola, and Jose Manalo.
