On March 31, artist Ryle Santiago recounted his journey from Star Magic to Viva Artists Agency.
At the media conference for his contract signing with Viva Artists Agency, which LionhearTV covered, Santiago shared, “I think the first ones to ever approach kasi was Star Magic. This [showbiz break] was nine years ago. They approached [asking] if I was interested. Sobrang timing, I just realized what I wanted to be. Tuma-miming po siya na I wanted to be an actor, a celebrity.”
As for going into Viva Artist Agency, Santiago highlighted the quick process of his contract signing with the entertainment company.
“This all started po kasi last Tuesday, last week lang. Sobrang grabe nga po, sobrang thankful nga po ako sa Viva na ang bilis po nila kumilos na wala pang one week may contract na, and then one week later may press conference na po tayo may contract signing na. So I’m very, very happy.
“This started with the premiere night of Baby Boy, Baby Girl, Direk Jason Paul Laxamana invited me, and nakita ko si Direk sila kuya Monching, they asked me kung nasan ba ako ngayon, sabi ko wala, sabi nila, ‘Oh my gosh, gusto mo mag-Viva?’ Sabi ko po opo.”
He noted the eagerness of the entertainment company to get him as one of their artists.
“Akala daw po nila na I don’t want to be part of Viva or I’m taken by another management. Sabi ko go lang, let’s sit down, let’s talk about it and let’s see. And I told my parents about it right on the spot, habang nangyayari po ‘yun. And sabi nila, ‘Good, sige good yan. Let’s see. Tignan natin kung may meeting o kung may date na.”
Santiago was a former member of the ‘Its Showtime’ boy group Hashtags with Natividad, Ross, Marquez, and de Leon.
He worked on series and movies such as #ParangNormal Activity, Bakwit Boys, The General’s Daughter, and Tubig at Langis. Santiago also dabbled in music with his song, Iniismol.
Accompanied by his parents, Sherilyn Reyes and Christ Tan, and his siblings, Lorenz and Anya, Santiago signed his contract with the Viva Artist Agency as their newest artist.
