FPJ’s Batang Quiapo star Renz Baña, commonly known as Baby Giant, revealed that he almost did not make the cast of the Kapamilya series.
Baña was the special guest in Bernadette Sembrano’s YouTube vlog uploaded on March 25.
He said that he was not the first choice for Oweng’s character but he eventually got the role.
“Napunta po sa ‘kin ‘yung opportunity po,” he said.
He then expressed his gratitude to FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FPJBQ).
“Nakakapunta po ako kung saan-saan, ang sarap sa pakiramdam. Dati napapanood ko lang ‘yun (Coco Martin) sa mga teleserye niya, sa mga pelikula niya (tapos ngayon) nakaharap ko na. Tuwang-tuwa ako roon.
“Iba rin ‘yung pakiramdam eh na ‘yung mga sikat pina-follow ‘yung video mo. Sobrang saya ko po talaga,” he said.
Baña also confessed to his being shy before, but his cousin urged him to make funny videos that eventually went viral online.
“Mahiyain pa ‘ko dati nun eh pero sabi niya (ng pinsan ko), gawa tayo, ‘wag kang mahiya, kaya mo ‘yan,” he said.
After his funny videos went viral on TikTok and Facebook, Baña came to prominence. He aleady has over 2.7 million followers on TikTok and 400k on Facebook.
