Actors Paulo Avelino and Maja Salvador have playfully blamed each other for the absence of an ‘I’m Drunk, I Love You’ sequel on television.
During an #AskPau session on Twitter where fans would ask Avelino about certain topics, the actor said they should ask Salvador why the show still hasn’t gotten a green light for a second installment.
“Si Maja lang hinihintay. Siya kulitin niyo wag ako,” he said when asked if he’d like to work on the show’s sequel.

Salvador posted a concise tweet saying, “script,” and a gif showcasing the famous quote in response.
“Bakit parang kasalanan ko?” from the Star Cinema film ‘Four Sisters and a Wedding’.

Salvador’s seemingly related reply had enthusiasts of the film anticipating a statement from JP Habac, the writer and director of ‘I’m Drunk, I Love You’.
This 2017 movie tells the tale of college best friends Carson (Salvador) and Dio (Avelino), who embark on a final getaway before graduating. The journey allows Carson to face her concealed emotions for Dio.
Habac initially suggested a sequel was being planned in October 2018, and in January of the subsequent year, he mentioned collaborating with Kristin Barrameda on the script.
He hinted that the undertaking, tentatively titled ‘I Love You, I Do’ takes place seven years following the original film’s events and continues to focus on Carson and Dio. Nevertheless, no additional information about the intended sequel has been disclosed since then.
In April 2020, during a virtual roundtable featuring Habac, Salvador confidently and decisively responded when inquired whether she would alter the conclusion of ‘I’m Drunk, I Love You’.
“Kung paano natapos, iyon talaga,” she said.
“Isang malaking dahilan ng pagtanggap ng ‘I’m Drunk, I Love You’ ay dahil hindi siya nagtapos na mag-end kami together. Realidad. Kasi may parte sa buhay natin na may ganoon kang kuwento,” Salvador added.
Avelino is working on getting fit as he gears up for the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye ‘Linlang’ that stars Maricel Soriano, Kim Chiu, and JM de Guzman. On January 16th, he gave a sneak peek of his workout regimen on his personal Instagram account, where he was seen boxing with trainer Mauro Lumba.
Meanwhile, Salvador is bombarded with a number of projects.
