Nadine Lustre admitted that fame once got to her head.
On April 15, via an interview with Bea Alonzo, Lustre revealed that she had reached a point where fame got to her head. She said it was during the peak of her romantic relationship with ex-boyfriend James Reid.
“Yes, [fame got to my head] of course, especially money. Parang nung time kasi na sobrang booming ‘yung love team, parang doon ko na-feel na hindi nauubos ‘yung pera. So, I was spending on so much,” she stated.
Lustre was asked how she felt about being pitted against Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla and Liza Soberano-Enrique Gil’s love teams.
“I didn’t like that there was a competing aspect to it. Parang sa akin back then, hindi ko siya nage-gets bakit may ganoon. So, I was more of just doing what I have to do. Nafi-feel ko lang talaga na pinagko-compete kami ng mga tao pero hindi ko siya inisip.”
Lustre added, “I am competitive pero ayaw ko [ng competition among us]. Parang I was really just doing my own thing. Hindi ko din gets bakit kailangan may competition. Even until now, nakikita ko siya sa ibang love teams.”
Nadine Lustre is known for her projects such as ‘Diary ng Panget’ (2014), ‘Talk Back and You’re Dead’ (2015), ‘Para sa Hopeless Romantic’ (2015), and ‘This Time’ (2016).
In December 2022, Lustre bagged the “Best Actress” award during the Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 with Gabi Ng Parangal for the film ‘Deleter’.
The said film topped the list of MMFF 2022’s top grosser and bagged the following awards: Best Picture, Best Sound, Best Visual Effect, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Director for Mikhail Red, and Best Actress for Lustre.
