The sensational TV series has been streaming on the streaming platform since April 15, allowing fans to relive the big moments of the series.
Kapuso series, Maria Clara at Ibarra, continues its sensational impact on audiences, more than a month since bidding adieu on air. After its finale episode on television, last February 24, the highly-acclaimed historical portal fantasy drama, debuted on Netflix, on April 15. The premiere was widely anticipated, as reflected by the series’ next-day performance on Netflix Philippines’ Top TV shows chart. Hitting the number spot right away, the series only proved that its sociocultural impact remains alive, months after completing its very successful TV run.
One week into the platform, the series remains atop the Philippine chart. According to the streaming and internet analytics service, Flix Patrol, Maria Clara at Ibarra has so far spent a week, being the most streamed TV show on Netflix Philippines.
Maria Clara at Ibarra bested out popular foreign shows, Beef, Queenmaker, Obsession, and One Piece. It is also notably the only Filipino show in the Top 10. The series dislodged Steven Yeun-top billed sitcom, Beef, off the number one spot, when it premiered on the platform last April 15.
Topping Netflix, however, isn’t the only proof to the series’s continuing impression as it just recently won a bronze medal, at the New York Festivals TV and Film Awards, proving its undeniable prestige.
It looks, however, like Netflix won’t be the only accessible platform, to watch the series, as it is reportedly going to be available too to iWantTFC users. The streaming platform is owned by GMA Network’s former fiercest TV rival, ABS-CBN.
In the meantime, you can still watch Maria Clara at Ibarra on Netflix as well as on the GMA Network app.
