Former Kapamilya singer-host Jaya took to social media to explain her side of John Lapus’s tweet that alluded to a singer who liked anti-trans sentiments.
On Tuesday, April 4, John Lapus tweeted about a singer, who was on a tweet-liking spree against the trans community.

Although Lapus didn’t mention any names, the Soul Diva Java, quickly owned it up and explained her side.
In her tweet response on Wednesday, April 5, Jaya explained that she’s not anti-trans, but the tweets from @againstgrmrs that she liked were about grooming young Americans to get reassignment surgeries without the consent of their parents.
“John I am not anti trans but if you will follow @againstgrmrs they are a group of lgbt that is against grooming young children here in America to get surgery without consulting with their parents and these kids can’t even drink alcohol or get a tattoo. Sana you guys can ask me…”

Meanwhile, several netizens also commented, pointing out that Lapus has a point in alluding to her since there are indeed several anti-trans tweets that she liked.

@detectivemask also replied to Jaya, pointing out that @againstgrmrs is not only against grooming but indeed a full-pledged anti-LGBT group in the US.
