From annoying co-star to breakthrough love team partner, this is how Barbie Forteza and David Licauco’s onscreen partnership developed.
In a Tiktok video shared by @iamchiekz on February 27, Forteza indirectly admitted that she used to be annoyed by Kapuso star David Licauco before.
The video featured Forteza’s lie detector challenge with Bea Alonzo in July 2022, wherein she was asked, “Meron ka bang kinaiinisang katrabaho?”
Without giving names, Forteza laughingly responded, “Papangalanan ko ba? hahahaha…. Eh siguro naman lahat naman siguro tayo meron diba, kahit naman artista diba?”
In the following question, Alonzo asked the ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ star if that person was her co-star in the Kapuso drama ‘Mano Po’, to which Forteza answered yes.
Aside from the lie detector challenge, the Tiktok video also featured a clip from Forteza and Licauco’s mall show for ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’. In this clip, Forteza shared their working relationship on ‘Mano Po’. She also shared how their partnership with Maria Clara at Ibarra helped her understand the previous situation.
Forteza shared, “Sa Mano Po, dun kame mas matagal nagkatrabaho so medyo dun ko nalaman kung papano yung ugali nya sa set….Pero dito sa Maria Clara at Ibarra, hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling pero nagopen-up sya saken kung bakit sya ganun. So from there, naintindihan ko sya and I got to know him on a more personal level.”
Forteza revealed that Licauco always opens up to her. She concluded, “And hindi ko pa din alam kung ganon na talaga kami kaclose para magopen-up sya saken, but thank you kasi for a very private person like you, pinagkatiwalaan mo ako ng personal stuffs.”

Forteza and Licauco made a breakthrough loveteam through the Kapuso portal fantasy series ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’, where they played Klay and Fidel.
And with the success of their love team, they are again paired up for the upcoming film directed by Cathy Camarillo.
A tweet by Sparkle Artist Center on April 3, teased the upcoming movie partnership of the two, who were given the romantic love team name “BarDa.”
