The actress’ newest venture gets her much closer to fulfilling her upcoming role with ease and emotional satisfaction: a mother.
Angeline Quinto is navigating an important phase in her life: motherhood. Having given birth to her first child, Sylvio, last year, the popular singer-actress has all the reasons to work harder, but her priorities have also shifted. During an intimate talk with her, last March 31, the Star Power grand winner, shared her excitement and optimism for her new venture.
“Twinqle” babycare products.
As a tribute to her fans who watch her YouTube vlogs, Quinto took the name of her new babycare line from the name she and her partner, Nonrev Daquina, gave to her YouTube subscribers. “Twinqle” is a stylized form of the word ‘twinkle’, which sounds right given how the Kapamilya singer-actress seems poised to shine in this new chapter of her life and career.
“Sabi ko ‘gusto ko everytime na babatiin ko sila…gusto ko may tawag sa mga subscribers ko para masma-feel nila na malapit sila sa akin, ” she shared, recalling the time when she was still trying to figure out what to call her fans.
“Si Nonreb ang ang nakaisip ‘non dahil mahilig ako sa mga stars,” she added.
Why did you build “Twinqle”?
Quinto admitted that while starting a business was also one of her plans two years ago, giving birth to Sylvia is what ultimately made her choose to make products for babies and mothers.
“Sabi ko, ‘parang sobrang tamang-tama ‘yung timing na makagawa ng produkto for babies and mga mommies. So, sabi ko, ‘ano kaya ang puwede kong gawin na pwede kong maitulong sa ibang mga nanay at mga bata? ” she recalled, before sharing first-hand motherhood experiences during Sylvio’s first months.
“Nagkataon naman noong nanganak ako, medyo na-istress ako doon sa biglang pagkakaroon ni Sylvio ng rashes. Bilang first time mom, ‘yun pala ang isa sa pinakaunang magigingproblema mo after mong manganak,” she shared.
It is for such a reason that all of the products that Twinqle intends to offer will directly respond to a mother and her baby’s needs.
Is Twinqle the answer you’ve been looking for to your questions regarding motherhood and raising Sylvio?
Quinto’s creation of Twinque is completely guided by her experiences as a first-time mother. For her, the early struggles she had with meeting her first child’s needs proved that the creation of “Twinqle” could not be more timely.
“Andaming mga nanay na sigurado akong napagdaanan din ‘yung ganito, lalo na kung first time mom ka, at gusto mo rin na makasiguro na ‘yung mga produktong ‘to fit sa mga bata at new born babies?, ” she said, reassuring that the products her babycare line would soon release to the market, are safe and perfect for mothers and their babies.
First reactions and customer evaluations for “Twinqle”
While Twinqle products are yet to be commercially released, the singer-actress has gladly shared that the effectiveness and safety of her babycare products have been extremely satisfying, as vouched for by close friends who had test trials for some of the products. Quinto shared that she, herself, has been using them on Sylvio, and has been so far noticing promising results.
She confirmed, “Pinapagamit ko kasi sa Sylvio ngayon ‘yung top-to-toe wash, so nakikita ko naman na nag-iimprove talaga ‘yung skin ng anak ko, unlike before talaga na sensitive kasi ‘yung skin niya. Ako, ginagamit ko din ‘yung bar soap? Kasi nakakatipid kasi ako doon kasi hinahati ko.”
Lessons of motherhood.
As it is for millions of first-time mothers around the world, having a child for the first time has been life-changing for Angeline. Her eyes glistened when she shared how motherhood has been for her, ever since giving birth last year.
“Iba yung happiness talaga, ” she said, admitting that she still misses Nanang Bob, her adoptive mom, who passed away in 2020. That said, becoming a mother has certainly brought the singer-actress to a new level of contentment and joy.
“Everytime na uuwi ako na pagod na pagod from trabaho, uuwi ka ng bahay na dati sanay ako na matulog na, pero ngayon kahit gabing gabi makikipaglaro ako sa anak ko, nawawala pagod ko,” she shared.
Quinto hopes that “Twinqle” will follow the same trajectory that her showbiz career did, ever since she won Sharon Cuneta’s singing talent-reality search in 2010. She notably rose among the ranks of the country’s most successful singers who also had a thriving movie career. It is her dream to see “Twinqle” expand similarly in the future.
