On February 27, singer and Academy of Rock’s global ambassador Yeng Constantino expressed her interest in mentoring fellow Kapamilya artists Janine Berdin and Janella Salvador.
At the contract signing event with the Academy of Rock, Constantino said she saw a younger version of herself in Berdin.
Talagang there’s just something about her, parang nakikita ko po ‘yung batang ako. Even po ‘yung time na parang na-confuse ako sa genre ko, nakikita ko sa kaniya ‘yung transitioning into what she wants to do in her music and her image. And I think nandoon po siya.”
She also noted Berdin’s potential as a successful music artist.
“And nakikita ko rin po ‘yung posts niya recently about sa grab niya– ‘yung last year niya na Spotify and ‘yung Spotify niya this year. Sobrang grabe ‘yung reaction. And nanggaling po ‘yung dahil she’s writing her own songs now.
“So if I would mentor someone, that would be her, kasi po talagang napakalaki ng potential niya and you see her hunger, you see her passion.
Aside from Berdin, Constantino also wanted to mentor Janella Salvador, praising the Valentina star’s vocal talents.
She stated that she could guide Salvador in honing her image as an artist if the Kapamilya actress decided to pursue a music career.
Mag-iinvest ako sayo day!
“I think she’s better than me when it comes to belting pa nga eh. Pero kung may mai-impart man ako sa side, siguro ‘yung projection, siguro more on sa side na ‘yun and ‘yung pag-hone sa imahe na gusto niya, kung paano ‘yung ipapakita niya ‘yung music side niya sa mga tao.”
Present at the contract signing event are Yeng Constantino, AOR President/Founder Priscila Teo, and shareholders Jonathan Manalo, Jeff M. Vadillo, Rox Santos, and Jacinto Gan Jr.
