On March 17, Kapuso star Ysabel Ortega compared ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ to Hollywood adaptations.
At the media conference for GMA Regional TV for ‘Voltes V: Legacy,’ Ortega highlighted how their series had a different twist on the source material.
Ortega explained, “Parang adaptation siya sa Hollywood, like adaptation movies na ginagawa nila, for example, mga superhero films, mga princess films. It’s the same but different. There’s a different twist kapag nakikita mo siya ng live action.”
She then recounted the challenges she experienced doing her first sci-fi series.
“For me feeling ko, aside from the whole Sci-Fi, which is so techniccal, sobrang nahirapan din ako and I think hindi rin naman ako nag-iisa na hindi sanay sa technicalities kapag nagsho-shoot ka ng Sci-Fi, kasi there’s chroma and there’s blocking. For example, kailangan mo mag-cut, and then for example may isang something na ia-aalis or idadagdag sa eksena, kailangan mong mag-freeze.
She also acknowledged the pressure of adding emotional nuances to her character in a sci-fi series.
“Aside from that then, siguro with that pressure, na ang daming bagong aspects na kailangan mong i-consider. Parang ‘yung pinaka-challenge for me is ‘yung naging technical din ‘yung pagpo-portray ko as Jamie at first, kasi ang daming aspects parang, ‘Hala, may ganitong aspect, kailangan ko ‘tong i-add sa character ko.”
She furthered, “Kailangan ko tong i-note lahat, and then I have to make a character out of it. So when I was thinking about it too much parang naging sobrang robotic ng character ko and sobrang miss niya, as in walang hit, as in puro miss.”
Ortega stars in the Kapuso Sci-Fi series, ‘Voltes V: Legacy,’ with Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho.
The sci-fi series features Martin del Rosario, Liezel Lopez, Epi Quizon, Carlo Gonzales, Gabby Eigenmann, Neil Ryan Sese, Albert Martinez, Christian Vasquez, Carla Abellana, Dennis Trillo, and many more.
