Vice Ganda responded to a netizen who lectured him following his viral statement about teachers who continue to call students not raising their hands for recitation.
In It’s Showtime episode on February 16, Vice Ganda said he would make a law forbidding teachers to call students for recitation if they are not raising their hands.

“Ipagbabawal ko para sa mga guro, bawal tumawag ng estudyante sa recitation na hindi naman nagtataas ng kamay!” he said.
The comedian said this as “YorMeme” who is a made-up character that spews nonsense.
In a tweet on February 26, one netizen gave an open letter to Vice Ganda saying that teachers never intended to shame students when they call them for recitations.

He even said that calling students for recitations [even if they are not raising their hands] is an effective teaching strategy to promote attention engagement.

The netizen then received backlash from other netizens who defended Vice Ganda.
They explained that the comedian was portraying a character and the netizen should understand the situation before judging or making any comment.
