The Kapamilya director believes that through the Richard Gutierrez starter, they have been able to create something that deserves to be seen not just by local, but also by global audiences.
‘The Iron Heart’ director, Lester Ong, takes massive pride in being able to mount a spectacular series, at a time where Filipino productions are scrambling to get a share of the global audience. During our two-day set visit to the production locations of the show in Cebu, last February 6 and 7, Ong beamed with excitement, as he shared the fulfillment of doing ‘The Iron Heart’ and the promise that the show is set to deliver.
“Actually, we (intentionally) shoot it and mount it with the intention to, at least close the gap, or make the gap closer, from our local teleserye to the international series,” the director shared, noting the series’ aspirations to be at par with the global standard when it comes to producing action shows.
Ong also highlighted Star Creatives and ABS-CBN’s plans to reach a wider audience, through the top-rated action drama series.
A long-time Kapamilya who has already worked on numerous projects, Ong expressed his gratitude to all the stars he has so far worked within the business. In The Iron Heart’s case, he said that he is thankful to all the actors for breathing life into the characters of the show. This has become instrumental in the fulfillment of his vision for the show, as one of its directors.
‘The Iron Heart’ recently announced its extension due to very impressive TV ratings. Just last week, the series hit an all-time high of 7.1 people ratings, according to Nielsen Philippines. On YouTube alone, the show attracts 160,000 live concurrent viewers each night.
The series airs from Monday to Friday, 8:45 PM, right after FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, on ABS-CBN’s many platforms, including A2Z and TV5 on free TV, and Kapamilya Channel and Jeepney TV, on pay television. Catch-up episodes are available on iWantTFC.
