On March 11, real-life celebrity couple Mikee Quintos and Paul Salas recalled their experience working together in their latest series.
At the media conference for their upcoming Viu and GMA Network series, The Write One, Salas said that he and Quintos had several conversations before they went on the set.
“Actually, para po sa akin, hindi ko po masasabing madali. It takes a lot of conversations, brainstorming, time, patience, understanding. Pero ang nakita ko sa apat sa amin, eh before po kami na magkasama sa show, sanay kami na–ayun nga tulad nga ng sabi ni Bianca, eh pahinga, comfortable, sabay kami mag-dinner, actually double date.”
He also noted that he didn’t expect their on-screen pairing in the series.
“So actually hindi ko ine-expect na magsasama kami sa iisang show. So, ‘yung nangyari ‘to, eh sabi ko kay Mikee, eh sobrang honored ako to be a part of this. And galingan namin, dahil tiwala naman kami kay Ruru at Bianca dahil sa mga pinapakita nila. At gusto naman namin na ibigay namin lahat para sa magandang show na ‘to.”
Quintos noted that she had several realizations about their work ethics as a couple after several disagreements on set.
“The way I see it, ‘yung mga napagdadaanan naming mga arguments, kung sakali man may hindi kami mapag-agreehan sa set, hindi ninyo maiiwasan ‘yun eh, working together talaga, magkaiba kami. Like I realized, magkaiba kami–kami ni Paul, magkaiba kami ng atake sa trabaho. Magkaiba ‘yung needs namin. Tapos the way I see it, ‘yung mga arguments na ‘yun ang nagsho-show sa amin na nakakatulong din na ma-better namin ‘yung real life relationship namin.”
She then pointed out that their experience working together would contribute to their growth as artists and a couple.
“So it’s going through those small things, doon namin–doon nagiging better ‘yung real life relationship namin and the way we work din on set. I think ‘yung mga skills nana-acquire namin working together are ‘yung mga things na hindi ko kayang matutunan na mag-isa lang ako, or pag di ko siya kasama sa project.”

The upcoming series also features Monching Gutierrez, Lotlot de Leon, Karenina Haniel, Analyn Barro, Yvette Sanchez, Eva Le Queen, Alma Concepcion, Mon Confiado, Kaloy Tingcungco, Migs Villasis, Euwenn Mikaell Aleta, and many more.
