Dabarkads host Maine Mendoza has earned the praise and admiration of netizens after correcting a contestant’s comment regarding the role of their children.
In the March 7 episode of Eat Bulaga!’s Bawal Jugemental segment, Mendoza politely corrected a contestant who tried to pass on the responsibility of having a good life to her 7-year-old child.
An obviously triggered Maine Mendoza can’t help but speak up and correct the parent. She says it is not their kid’s responsibility to give them a good life. However, she as the parent, together with her husband, since they are still young, has that responsibility to give their children and their family a good life.
Mendoza’s action quickly drew positive responses from netizens.

Kapamilya writer Noreen Capili also took to Twitter to share her reaction.
“This is one of the reasons why I love Maine — she’s not afraid to call out someone, to correct that person. And she does this na hindi condescending, hindi offensive. I remember that episode when JDL said depression is gawa-gawa lang, and Maine disagreed and took her stand.”

Gusto ko yung ibinalik ni @mainedcm sa kanya yung responsibilidad na iaangat ang buhay nya without being condescending. https://t.co/bj4AH4uA2x

I don't follow Pinoy celebs too often, but Maine's classy, gentle, but firm response was pleasantly surprising & really impressive.
Years ago, hosts would have ridden hard on the concept of filial piety. https://t.co/iDBwVxdssS
