Filipino actress Lorna Tolentino, who also appeared in FPJ’s ‘Ang Probinsyano‘ is the latest addition to FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo‘ cast. She met with Coco Martin and other directors of the series on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, where her role was explained to her.
She expressed her enthusiasm for the role but did not disclose any details about it as it is something to look forward to.
“Buti na lang, hindi lola!” Tolentino joked.
In previous interviews, Tolentino expressed that if Martin offered her a role in FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’, she would accept it right away, even if it were for a grandmother role.
She wants to work with Martin again because she feels veteran actors are given importance. They have already agreed on some changes to her appearance, so she is preparing for taping next week.
These changes are necessary so that her character in FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ will look very different from Lily’s in FPJ’s ‘Ang Probinsyano’.
FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ garnered 289,337 simultaneous views on its March 21 episode. The series recorded over 44 million online views during its pilot week in February.
However, GMA’s ‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja’ is competing with Martin’s program with the surprise casting of Sunshine Dizon who plays the character Iris Dayanghirang.
Iris Dayanghirang is the mysterious mother of Gem, played by Kylie Padilla, Crystal, played by Gabbi Garcia, and Onxy, played by Vin Abrenica. This also marks Dizon’s comeback to the Kapuso network.
‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja’ debuted on February 27, replacing ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra.’
