After Ogie Diaz, Liza Soberano’s aunt Joni Castillo also shared her reaction to the issues about their commission from Liza Soberano.
In an Instagram comment on Tuesday, March 14, Castillo apologized if some netizens felt that her getting commissions from Soberano was wrong.
“Buti po pina panood niyo both sides okei po yan if sa tingin nyo may mali ako sorry po. Pero most of the time po yung pala decide po kayo basta na lng kumada yan po ang nag papa lala.
She then stressed that she’s not “mukhang pera” and the commission issue is just being blown out of proportion by other people who don’t know the whole story.
Aunt Joni’s comment was a response to a netizen who commented that she shouldn’t have taken commissions from Soberano but just a salary instead.
“Ms.
Meanwhile, the netizen’s comment came after Soberano’s interview with Boy Abunda on Monday, March 13.
During the interview, the former Kapamilya star revealed that her aunt Joni, who acts as her personal assistant, used to get 20 percent commission while Ogie Diaz gets 30 percent and Star Magic gets 10, leaving her with roughly 30 percent after deducting 10 percent tax for the United States since she’s an American citizen.
I started with him at 12 and then up until I was… I believe 2015 or 2016, which was I was 17, 30 percent po yung commission niya sa akin. My Tita Joni was taking 20 percent, and Star Magic was taking 10 percent.
“My Tita Joni started feeling bad for me for that situation, so nag-usap po sila ni Tito Ogie na bawasan na lang yung commissions nila for me. Because they felt, like, I deserved more since I was putting in a lot of work.
“So, eventually naging 20 percent na lang si Tito Ogie, at si Tita Joni naging 15 percent…And Star Magic was still at 10 percent.”
Those statements prompted netizens to call out her aunt, which eventually warranted Castillo to also react.
