Liza Soberano admitted she got compelled to get into showbiz.
On March 7, in an interview, Soberano said she didn’t dream of becoming a celebrity.
“Hindi ko pinangarap maging artista. I had to be one para mapa-aral ko sarili ko, mapa-aral ko mga kapatid ko, para mabuhay ang pamilya ko. I think that’s one thing na hindi alam ng maraming tao.
“It came from necessity. I needed to make money for my family,” she said.
Soberano shared that someone approached and wanted her to join the children’s show Going Bulilit when she was [still] 10.
“Me and my dad had a big fight about it kasi ayoko. And honestly, I wasn’t expecting na magtatagal po ako dito sa Philippines,“ she confessed.
Soberano explained she was a shy girl and could not speak Tagalog. She stated her grandfather in the US got sick, and her parents couldn’t afford to fly her back.
“I was forced to work because I wanted to go back to the States,” she revealed.
At 12, Soberano started as a print ad model. She is known for her projects Alone/Together (2019), Everyday I Love You (2015), and Must Be Love (2013).
In 2014, during a press conference for Forevermore–she revealed she wanted to become a celebrity.
