A rumor circulated that ABS-CBN will produce a Filipino adaptation of the famous 2018 Korean series What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?
According to the rumor, Dreamscape Production will produce it, with Kim Chiu portraying the lead role. This is in addition to Chiu’s upcoming television drama Linlang along with Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.
The rumor began when Chiu shared photos of herself spending time with the Dreamscape higher-ups on March 16.

Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal also shared a photo of him with Chiu, seemingly confirming the adaptation.
Chiu’s supporters expressed excitement, saying that she fits the role perfectly.

What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim is a romantic-comedy Korean television series aired in 2018. The story revolves around a selfish and self-absorbed vice-chairman of a company named Lee Young-Joon, portrayed by Park Seo-Joon, and his hardworking and efficient secretary, Kim Mi-so, played by Park Min-young.
Since Kim Mi-so started working for him as his secretary, Lee Young-Joon has never known life without her, making her responsible for most of his personal and business activities.
However, Kim Mi-so resigns, leaving Lee Young-Joon confused and determined to find out why she is going. This leads to hilarious situations as Lee Young-Joon tries to unravel the truth behind Kim Mi-so’s resignation.
Throughout the series, their growing romantic relationship creates a lighthearted and enjoyable viewing experience for fans.
Linlang is a forthcoming ABS-CBN drama series featuring Kim Chiu and Maricel Soriano. The storyline is about a woman named Rose, an investigative journalist played by Chiu. While investigating her father’s case, she discovers a scandalous case involving a wealthy and influential family. The suspicious death of Rose’s father leads her to a high-stakes adventure, where she uncovers secrets and lies within the wealth and power-obsessed dynasty. Meanwhile, Soriano plays the role of Senator Vera, who is said to have a significant connection to the problem Rose is investigating. The show’s airing date has yet to be announced.
During the pandemic, Chiu kept herself preoccupied with her teleserye Love Thy Woman and starring in the Philippine version of the Indian horror flick U-Turn. The Kapamilya actress shared that the daunting times had taught her important life lessons and helped her learn more about herself.
“Dami eh. Saan natin sisimulan? Parang this year, I’ve learned so much. Nakilala ko yung sarili ko and I’ve learned na puwede pala yung mga bagay na ganito na gagawin mo sa bahay and then I also learned na yung mga bagay dati na mga expensive stuff, signature bags, luho mo, it’s not that important naman pala. The most important is your circle, your family, your friends. Yun yung mahalaga. Yung tao na nandiyan sa iyo kasi yung materyal na bagay it’s nothing. Ngayon pag pumupunta ako ng grocery (binibili ko) yung mga kailangan ko lang. Hindi na yung mga extra extra. Yung kung ano yung importante, yun ang natutunan natin this year eh. It is to have a good family, a good circle that will keep your sanity and yun lang. Alam natin yung main priority natin. So nasa tamang path na tayo in the next coming years,” she said previously.
“It makes me happy to see someone happy. Parang happy ako pag may nakikita akong taong happy. Yung parang yun na, na-ha-happy na rin ako pag happy ka. Parang pangit pakinggan pero happy ako pag may taong happy kasi kailangan natin maging happy for each other dahil yun ang kailangan natin di ba? Yung support. So kung happy ka, support kita so happy din ako para sa iyo.
“And then not everyone can smile and yung parang genuine smile and genuine happiness dahil sa ilalim dun meron at meron tayong pinagdadaanan but we’re very thankful na kahit papaano we are able to smile and we were able to feel na happy tayo. So nakaka-happy lang yung ganun. I’m happy to see everyone happy,” she explained.
