In an article posted on March 15, box-office director Cathy Garcia-Molina confirmed Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s comeback film and said the movie won’t focus on the love aspect of the real-life celebirity couple.
“Yes, I am doing a KathNiel movie sometime in June. It will start,” she said.
In December 2022, Garcia-Molina denied that the two stars’ next project is a romantic-comedy film.
“Dapat naka-slate siya sa January, first quarter dapat, before I get married in April. January dapat gagawin ‘yung KathNiel. Ewan ko kung ano ang mangyayari.
“The KathNiel movie is very different. It’s something new and we’re all very excited for KathNiel. Basta, kakaiba! Nanggaling sa aming lahat [na hindi ito gawing romcom], aside from gusto rin nila na makitang bago naman sila,” Garcia-Molina shared.
On March 8, Padilla confirmed he and Bernardo are open to working with Coco Martin in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. MJ Felipe posted a video of Martin, hugged by Bernardo and Padilla.
