The rumor about Eat Bulaga!’s takeover is really in the offing.
According to a PEP article published on Friday, March 3, the children of former Zamboanga congressman and founding partner of TAPE Inc. Romeo Jalosjos have already met with the GMA Network executives to talk about the noontime show.
The Jalosjos siblings, Bullet, John, and Soraya, are said to have introduced themselves as the new management team behind the country’s longest-running noontime show. Jalosjos’s business partner, Antonio P. Tuviera, who currently manages the noontime show, is said to be present also in the meeting.
TAPE Inc. currently has a block-time agreement with GMA Network.
Meanwhile, the Eat Bulaga! controversy was a hot topic on social media. It even topped the trending topics on Twitter Philippines on Friday, March 3.
Veteran columnist and host Cristy Fermin, in her program on One PH on March 2, revealed that there are indeed internal conflicts inside Eat Bulaga!’s management.
Fermin said that according to her reliable source, a well-loved executive of the noontime show is being forced out of the program.
While Fermin did not name the executive, it was clear that she’s pointing to Mr. Tony Tuviera.
Bilyonaro.com, in their article published on Friday, March 3, also reported that Jalosjos wanted Tuviera and Tito, Vic, and Joey out of the noontime show.
“Jalosjos wants to kick out Tuviera and TVJ out of the show. He just waited to Tito to get out of politics before launching his takeover bid,” according to Bilyonaryo’s source.
In the same article, it was said that Jalosjos is wooing comedians Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, and Allan K to remain in the program and replace TVJ as the new main hosts.
The trio, however, are said to be non-committal on Jalosjos’ offer, and they were also met by Tuviera and TVJ to join them in a new noontime show with a tentative title of Dabarkdas if ever the buyout pushed through.
