Kapuso artist Jackie Rice opened up on the rumors about her transfer to the ABS-CBN network.
In an interview with PEP on February 28, the 32-year-old actress said that she was supposed to transfer to ABS-CBN but she got busy handling her business abroad.
Rice confirmed, “Dapat, sana…pero, hindi ko talaga matututukan kasi. Magnenegosyo kasi nga sa abroad.”
There were talks before that Rice would portray the role of Valentina in ABS-CBN’s ‘Darna’ series but Janella Salvador landed the role.
Rice explained, “Hindi totally nag-usap, e, pero plano. Ayoko nang sagutin, kasi mas pinili ko, abroad na lang.”
She then shared that her business abroad is still starting out. “Niluluto pa lang. Parang magiging home care siya sa States, so matrabaho talaga.”
When asked about her plans to return to showbiz, Rice revealed that her doors are always open but only when her business becomes stable.
The actress confirmed, “Nami-miss ko, gusto ko. Once siguro stable na lahat, once okay na yung negosyo, once ano na siya, stable na. Niluluto pa kasi, e.”
The actress-turned-businesswoman said she does not have a regular place to stay here in the country; she has a friend though in Rockwell. She has one though it is in the province of Iloilo, Guimaras.
Rice also shared that show business is not a “lifetime” job; hence her decision to embark on the business.
Jackie Rice has been away from the limelight for quite some time now. Her last project on GMA was the 2019 drama series, ‘Beautiful Justice’.
She came to prominence after joining GMA Network’s reality search contest StarStruck, where she became the Ultimate Female Survivor in the show’s third season.
