It appears that “Megastar” Sharon Cuneta’s cryptic social media posts have had an impact on media giant ABS-CBN.
Earlier this month, Cuneta hinted at working with other TV stations. Her statements came after she accused younger talents of disrespecting her.
Cuneta tweeted on March 5 that she could possibly work on projects not produced by the Kapamilya network.
I have been and will always be a Kapamilya. I have been with ABS-CBN since 1988, when they were just rebuilding their station from the ground up after years of closure by the then-Philippine government. Cuneta reminisced about her most memorable shows like ‘Sharon’, ‘The Voice’, and her appearance on FPJ’s ‘Ang Probinsyano’.
The “Megastar” shared, “ABS-CBN has too many stars now and we of the “old guard” have to give way. So while I will always be there when they need me and will always be grateful, I guess it is understandable that I for now consider myself a free agent.”

In one of the tweets in the thread, Cuneta said it would be in her most beneficial interests to explore opportunities.
She expressed, “It’s time I opened myself up to other stations that may need my services, while always keeping my Kapamilya “duties,” if and when they come.”
She pointed out that the number of projects undertaken by ABS-CBN was extremely limited.
“One goes only where one is needed. I love you, ABS-CBN. My memory and loyalty are unquestionable. But a girl’s gotta work where she can and where she’s wanted. See you again hopefully soon, whenever you may need me!” she furthered.
However, Dreamscape head Deo Endrinal recently shared a screenshot of him and other executives such as Erick Salud, Rondel Lindayag, and Cory Vidanes with Cuneta on a Zoom call.
This could suggest that ABS-CBN doesn’t want Cuneta working with other networks. Before joining FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on November 21, which was her first teleserye for over 8 years, Cuneta last appeared on TV5’s ‘Madam Chairman‘.
