Malacañang film series director Darryl Yap slammed film critics who gave his film ‘Maid in Malacañang’ the lowest rating ever.
In a Facebook post on Monday, March 28, Yap blasted his critics for giving ‘Maid in Malacañang’ the all-time lowest rating for a Filipino film on IMDB and Letterboxd.
The director also attributed the film ratings to liberals and the mainstream media, a constant scapegoat for Marcos’s’ loyalist forces. He said the truth has no value for the liberals or the mainstream media.

He then claimed that no matter what ratings were given to ‘Maid in Malacañang’ on several film review sites, it will be remembered as the film that opened the film industry and brought people back to the cinemas following the pandemic.
However, while MiM projected record-breaking box office success, there were stories and allegations of free ticket distribution and bulk buying from several business groups, which helped augment the film’s ticket sales and cinema attendance. Moviegoers were allegedly lured by free tickets given by film participants.
