FPJ’s Batang Quiapo lead star and director Coco Martin confirmed that the program attempted to have motivational speaker Rendon Labador make an appearance but the invite fell through the cracks.
In a video shared by Labador himself, Martin revealed that FPJ’s Batang Quiapo wanted Labador to play a role in the highly-rated show.
“Hindi… actually kinukuha namin ‘yon eh… eh hindi natuloy eh…” Martin answered when an interviewer brought up Labador’s name.
“Hayaan n’yo na… ako naman inuunawa ko na lang sila,” Martin said after several people joked that they don’t like Labador.
In his response to Martin, Labador confirmed that the show wanted him on but he denied it twice.

“Nag follow up sila ng second time at gusto daw nila ako i include, tinawagan namin sila at nakausap.
According to Labador, he has better things to do than to get involved with something that has no direction.
Aside from that, Labador is busy working on opening a sports bar.
Huwag kang tanga.”
Labador said that if Martin truly wants him on the show, he should face him “man to man.”
Then lets talk about business.”
Netizens think Labador could’ve been more humble given he’s not as popular as Martin or the show.

Meanwhile, Labador shared a photo of an envelope that appears to have been sent by ABS-CBN.

“May dumating na envelope sa office from the content creator ABS-CBN, ano kaya to? Ayaw kong mag artista kasi negosyante talaga ako at ayaw ko ng scripted as much as possible.
