The social media star reiterated that previous rumors suggesting she was a third party in Wil Dasovich and Alodia Gosiengfiao’s breakup, were entirely untrue.
‘The Iron Heart’ star Christine Samson, knows when to and not to entertain a basher on social media. We had a chance to ask her about her role in the show, as well as her role as a social media influencer, during our two-day trip to see the top-rated series’ shooting locations in Cebu, last February 7. According to her, social media influencers should exercise restraint when it comes to entertaining detractors, a.k.a. “bashers” on social media.
“Hindi po ako talaga napatol pero minsan po, sa mga deserve patulan,” she said. Samson recalled the time when her name got dragged into the breakup of social media celebrities, Wil Dasovich and Alodia Gosiengfiao. The two reportedly parted ways late last year, in the wake of an alleged cheating issue. It can be recalled that some reports alluded to Samson being the third party that caused the breakup.
However, according to the model and commercial actress herself, the issue has already been resolved. She explained, “Hindi po totoo. Parang natsismis lang. Na-confirm na po na hindi totoo. Nagsalita na po ‘yung tao na sinasabi nila. Akala po nila na kabit ako ni Kuya Will Dasovich pero hindi po talaga.”
She also underscored her respect for both Dasovich and Gosiengfiao, who according to her, are practically her “parents” in the industry. She clarified, “Parang magulang ko na ‘po sila sa industry, so hindi po talaga ‘yun totoo. May boyfriend na rin po ako noon,” she told our group during a junket interview in Mandaue City.
Samson stated that her relationship with her boyfriend, Justin Vasquez, was not affected by such a nasty rumor, as Vasquez already knew that the issue was merely fake news.
Being one of the fastest-rising social media stars with millions of followers across multiple social media platforms, Samson admitted that authenticity is what gets an online celebrity like her to places. Perhaps that’s why she got the role in ‘The Iron Heart’. Upon learning the character description of her role, she became excited.
“Ako po talaga ito. ‘Yung Christine Samson po talaga, nag-match siya sa hinahanap ng Iron Heart. Actually ‘yung character parang ako ‘yung dine-describe noong binasa ko po. Parang husky voice, medyo seductive magsalita…” she said.
Because of her popularity and the nature of her job, Samson believes that social media stars like her practically have no escape from the public eye. However, influencers can control how much they want their followers to know about their personal lives.
Samson plays the role of Freya, a young businesswoman who runs a troll farm, in the top-rated Kapamilya series, The Iron Heart. The series airs from Mondays to Fridays, right after FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, on A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Channel, and Jeepney TV.
