On March 11, Kapuso homegrown artist Bianca Umali insisted that she was the one who decided to join Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
At the media conference for their upcoming Viu and GMA Network series, ‘The Write One,’ Umali clarified that she joined INC because of her faith.
Umali shared, “There was no discussion at all, hindi naging challenge. At never ko naramdaman– hindi ko naisip na kinailangan ko mag-convince kung papayag ang kahit na sino para sa isang personal na decision ko. Especially, if it is about faith. It’s a personal decision, hindi ko po siya ginawa para kay Ruru, para sa pagmamahal.”
She also noted that her beau, Ruru Madrid, didn’t know she signed with INC. The actress revealed, “Ako po ang lumapit, in fact, hindi po alam ni Ruru na ako’y nakapagpatala na.”
Umali also cited that her grandmother welcomed and supported her decision to convert to INC. She said, “And noong inisip ko kung magiging challenge ba ang Lola ko, in fact, not at all. Alam kong tinawag ako ng Ama, and kung ano ‘yung naging challenge lang, hindi ako iwe-welcome at yayakapin ng lola ko noong nalaman niya masaya ako sa faith ko at mas masaya ako sa kaniya.”
As for the upcoming series, Umali stars in the Kapuso series, ‘The Write One,’ with her boyfriend, Ruru Madrid.
The upcoming series also features Paul Salas, Mikee Quintos, Monching Gutierrez, Lotlot de Leon, Karenina Haniel, Analyn Barro, Yvette Sanchez, Eva Le Queen, Alma Concepcion, Mon Confiado, Kaloy Tingcungco, Migs Villasis, Euwenn Mikaell Aleta, and many more.
Under the direction of Baco, ‘The Write One’ premieres on March 20 via GMA Telebabad and early streaming on Viu on March 18.
