Kapuso star Ashley Ortega denied dating rumors with actor Xian Lim.
Dating rumors spread as they worked together on GMA Network’s figure skating series ‘Hearts on Ice’.
In a statement on Updated with Nelson Canlas on March 28, Ortega shut the rumors down.
“Natatawa na lang kami ni Xian na parang ‘Saan ba to nanggagaling?’ You know, me and Xian, we’re just friends and we all know he’s in a relationship di ba with someone. I respect the relationship, I respect Xian,” she said.
She added, “Nagugulat nalang talaga ako na parang ‘Ha? Saan nila nakukuha to?’”
Ortega then said that people might have thought she and Lim were dating after they were spotted at a public skating rink. But they simply acted out some scenes for their series.
Ortega shared, “May mga dance steps kami na may mga holding hands, di ba kasi as love teams kami sa show?” So siguro nalalagyan nila ng malisya yon.”
She added, “Nagugulat talaga kami, ang dami nilang time kasi mga paragraph talaga ‘yung comments. Alam mong trolls lang, they would really make time to create an Instagram account and then just bash you all day long.”
Xian Lim is currently in a long-term relationship with actress Kim Chiu. They have been together for more than 10 years now.
Ashley Ortega is currently single as she recently broke up with her boyfriend Mayor Mark Alcala of Lucena City, Quezon.
Meanwhile, Kim Chiu supported Lim and Ortega after their series ‘Hearts on Ice’ aired its pilot episode.
“Congratulations @xianlimm, @ashleyortega,” Chiu wrote.
On the other hand, Lim has also denied dating rumors. He said that they were simply portraying a theme of love while taking on their characters.
