The young male star is excited to see his role in the top-rating Kapamiya primetime series and to level up in terms of action scenes.
Anthony Jennings is probably making a “detour” from the usual roles that young stars like him take on these days.
Following his appearances in romcom and youth-oriented dramas since debuting in showbiz, the talented Kapamilya artist takes on a more challenging role as Cronus, one of the newer characters introduced in the The Iron Heart.
When asked about his experience on the set during a visit to the show’s taping locations in Cebu on February 7, he expressed his excitement for the show and his role.
“Nag-eenjoy talaga ako. Alam mo ‘yung hindi ka napapagod kasi natutuwa ka kapag nakikita mo na at napapanood mo na (yung result)?” he shared, noting how excited he was for being able to pull off the role, escpecially its action scenes.
“Nagawa ko na, pero meron pa akong gagawin,” he said, hinting at what’s next with his character, Cronus, which is a web hacker and an internet troll and scammer.
Jennings noted that he had ample time to prepare for the role, as the production and the showrunners took a while before notifying him that he could finally appear on the show.
“Nag-training kami noong hindi pa sinu-shoot ‘yung Iron Heart that time. Tapo sobrang tagal kong na-tengga kasi ‘yung character ko, naghihintay pa sila ng ng magandang time para isingit ‘yung character ko.”
Speaking of training, he shared that it helped him pull off some of the action scenes his role is required to do on the show.
“Since may background ako sa Taekwondo, kasi (nagtraining ako) ‘nung bata ako, may kaonting tulong,” he noted, but clarified that he had to exert more efforts, as it is what both his role and the set up of the entire production, demand.
“Pero iba kasi kapag sa TV. Kasi sobrang exag ‘yung movements,” he added.
The Iron Heart airs weeknights, on A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Channel, and Jeepney TV, right after FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. Catch-up episodes are also available on iWantTFC.
