HBO Asia Originals’ production The Bachelor Indonesia premieres with two episodes on Friday, 10 February 2023 and new episodes dropping every subsequent Friday, exclusively on HBO and HBO GO. The 10-episode series follows Indonesian heartthrob, Richard Kyle as the Bachelor, as he seeks his one true love.
The emotionally charged reality series promises drama, romance and rivalry as 19 charismatic and talented women compete for the affections of one of Indonesia’s most eligible men.
The Bachelor Indonesia is the first local version of the hit Warner Bros. Discovery reality series The Bachelor ever to be produced in the country, and features Richard Kyle, a 34-year-old accomplished businessman, actor, model, presenter, and social media personality. The wildlife advocate and avid traveller – who has also lived in Australia – has established himself as a household name in Indonesia, and is now ready to move onto the next stage of his life.
Richard Kyle commented, “To be selected as the Bachelor and be a part of The Bachelor Indonesia was truly a fantastic experience. I have met some incredible and inspiring women on this journey, and I cannot wait to find true love — someone I can start an adventure with.”
With hopes of building a family of his own, Richard begins the search for his future life partner from among 19 contestants. Over 10 episodes, Richard narrows the field in The Bachelor Indonesia via a series of group dates, single dates, favourite time, cocktail parties and rose ceremonies.
Each bringing with them something special, 19 beautiful and talented contestants vie for Richard’s affections with the ultimate goal of progressing through the selection rounds leading up to the final rose ceremony in which Richard crowns his better half. The contestants include French-born and well-heeled Tiphaine who has travelled to over 30 countries for a social cause; and Tiphaine’s best friend, Amanda — daughter of the legendary Indonesian soccer player Cristian Gonzáles and a budding musician who struggles to find a balance between friendship and courtship.
Sharing in Richard’s entrepreneurship and entertainment industry experiences, Ruth started her career in the girl band “Soul Sisters” in 2016 as part of a talent search program at Global TV (the Next Boy/ Girl Band). Fellow models, Wilda – who won the Putri Indonesia Pariwisata in 2018 and values family above all things – as well as Sinta, Putri and Dwi, bring a wide range of personalities and charms to stand out from the rest and earn a date with the Bachelor.
Hosted by award-winning Indonesian actor Oka Antara, the series is produced by leading reality format studio, Fremantle Indonesia. Fans will witness first-hand as Richard and the contestants experience unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime dates in 49 exotic and romantic destinations across the island of Bali, Indonesia, including Nusa Penida, Suwat Waterfall, Puri Tresna Temple and Manta Bay. From sailing, manta ray spotting, vintage car appreciation to traditional Balinese dancing, each date adventure is designed to offer Richard and the contestants the opportunity to deepen their connection and form unique bonds.
Will Richard find his one true love among them at the end of 10 episodes? Tune in to find out — exclusively on HBO and HBO GO. The Bachelor Indonesia Episodes 1 and 2, premieres on Friday, 10 February. Stay tuned for new episodes dropping every subsequent Friday.
