Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez takes pride in the level of sophistication the series has been pulling off for their audiences, noting the show’s aspirations to be at par with international standards.
Richard Gutierrez expressed his excitement and pride for being able to mount a full-fledged action-drama series via the now top-rating, The Iron Heart. Sharing the news about the show’s extension due to impressive ratings, Gutierrez talked to us in Cebu during our set visit on February 6 and 7–to give a glimpse of the show’s highly-sophisticated production.
The heartthrob star shared how special the project is, to him.
“I am very happy and very honored to be given this project. Napaka-espesyal nito para sa akin dahil ito ang unang action series na pinagbibidahan ko sa ABS-CBN. I can say na everybody is working hard. We have a great team at napakahusay ng mga artistang kasama ko dito, a napakahusay ng mga direktor and writers.”
Gutierrez underscored the effort of the whole show to be collaborative, noting that everyone involved in the production gets a chance to share their ideas to elevate the show’s quality.
“Yung mga pagsasama namin dito, very collaborative, so lahat are giving suggestions and ideas. I think that’s what makes the show good and high quality.”
Since its debut, The Iron Heart continues to reap high praises for its level of production, with many commending the show’s beautifully-choreographed action scenes. Gutierrez gave props to the show’s hardworking stunt and fight team.
“Kahit papaano, we want to elevate the action scenes in the Philippines, and we try to make it as good or at par sa mga international action series,” he said, adding that producing a well-executed action series is well within the capabilities of Filipino showrunners and producers.
“Kasi, kaya naman natin eh. Kaya naman ng mga Pilipino na gumawa ng magandang action series. With the right people and the right team, and that’s what we’re trying to do.
“We will do our best to keep elevating the action,” he promised, citing the show’s extension as a chance to explore more in the field of action.
The Iron Heart airs from Mondays to Fridays on free-to-air channels, A2Z and TV5, and on pay TV channels, Kapamilya Channel and Jeepney TV. The series also streams online via Kapamilya Online Live and iWantTFC. Internationally, it can be watched via The Filipino Channel (TFC).
