On January 31, Kapuso singer Psalms David talked about his musical inspirations that influenced his musical styles.
At the media conference for his song Ride, David noted that his musical idols impacted his hopes of writing songs for other artists.
“Harry Styles, Troye Sivan, L.A.B, LANY, mga ganon po.
“Gusto ko rin po someday na makapagsulat ako for other singers kagaya ni Ate Jen, gusto ko po sulatan ng kanta.”
He then discussed how he wrote the song Ride amid the struggles during the pandemic.
“This song, Ride, was written [in the midst of] the pandemic, so I guess ‘yung inspiration ng song na ‘to would be the struggles everyone was going through and is going through up until now.
“Kasi pandemic pa din naman, pero since pandemic ito nasulat, it’s very– ano pa noon, naka-lockdown and stuff so there are stories na kinuwento sa akin ng mga friends ko and ng sarili ko na rin. And ‘yung mga stories na ‘yun eh na-compile po and naging inspiration for this song Ride.”
As for musical collaborations, David listed the Pinoy artists he wanted to work with as an artist.
As for David’s newest single under GMA Playlist, Ride becomes available on streaming platforms this February 10 with a pre-order available up until February 9.
