The pilot episode of Coco Martin’s comeback series on primetime produced multiple highlights that caught the attention and admiration of netizens and casual viewers.
The emotional and heart-wrenching portrayal of her character by Miles Ocampo in ABS-CBN’s primetime series, FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’, has been lauded by netizens. The Coco Martin-starrer, debuted in the 8:00 pm slot, last night, February 13, on the heels of massive anticipation and excitement from fans, for the so-called primetime king’s television comeback.
The young Marites will be played by Ocampo, while the mature Marites will be played by Cherry Pie Picache. As brief as her appearance may be, Ocampo will nevertheless exit the show, with a feat too remarkable to be forgotten.
On Twitter, netizens inundated their feeds with only high praise for the show, but most remarkably, for the powerful performances rendered by the cast. The one who arguably stole the pilot episode, however, was Ocampo, who owned all her scenes. It was not surprising, at all, that she trended worldwide on Twitter.

MILES OCAMPO EVERYONE! SHE IS THE BOMB OF THIS FIRST EPISODE.
She master her craft. The emotions. The pain. The confusion. The hesitation. She really deliver a great portrayal as young Cherry Pie Picache. #FPJsBatangQuiapo #FPJsBatangQuiapoDay

In an interview, Ocampo revealed that she said yes right away, even without knowing the full background of the role when it was offered. The last time she portrayed a role in a TV series was notably in 2021’s ‘Niña Niño’.
‘Batang Quiapo’ however, marks her return to ABS-CBN primetime, after a decade of absence. Her last Kapamilya show that aired on primetime was the 2013 TV series, ‘Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw’ with Anne Curtis, Kris Aquino, and Robin Padilla.
