Senator Mark Villar, son of billionaire Manny Villar, revealed that the Villar-owned network ALLTV is not shutting down.
Recently, rumors spread that the ALLTV network is shutting down as some of its programs will stop airing like Wowowin, Toni, and MOMs.
In an interview with Anthony Taberna on February 12, Villar quashed the rumors as he said that the ALLTV network continues to thrive and will not shut down.
“Simple lang ang sagot diyan, hindi.
“Simple lang ang sagot, pasimula… nagsisimula [pa lang] yung ALLTV so siyempre ano rin, there’s some… minsan may mga changes na ginagawa. So I think tuloy, I mean, hindi magsasara ang ALLTV.”
He also said that the management is doing its best to improve the ALLTV network.
“With regards to operations, pag may mga improvements na kailangang gawin, gagawin din nila.
“Kung may mga changes na kailangang gawin, gagawin nila para ma-improve yung product, ganun lang. Ganun lang kasimple yun.
“But, okay pa. Okay pa yung ALLTV.
“We can say that it will be, it will continuously improve. We’ll see continuous improvement sa ALLTV.
“Pero hindi naman ako active sa day to day, but based on what I know, we see continuous improvements.”
“Of course. Of course. ALLTV is here to stay,”
The ALLTV network, owned by Villar’s AMBS (Advanced Media Broadcasting System), had a soft launch on September 13, 2022. This after acquiring the free-TV channel 2 formerly held by the Kapamilya network ABS-CBN.
However, it had poor performance in the rating game only averaging 0.2 percent. Reports said that ALLTV management has already decided to cancel some of its programs and just continue airing the re-runs of classic ABS-CBN and TV5 teleseryes and its news programs.
