Kapuso writer Mark Duange Angos dispelled the current prevailing notion that traditional TV viewing is dying.
In his tweet on Thursday, February 16, Angos highlighted the re-ignited network fan wars with the return of Coco Martin to primetime TV via the Kapamilya action-drama teleserye FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.
“Sino ba nagsabi TV is dying? Network fanwars is very much alive & kicking haha! Got the rare chance to work on both sides and I’m hopeful of the future of our own creative industry. Baka you like a chill, fun show? #LuvIsCaughtInHisArms airing 8:50PM on GMA. Cheers to Pinoy TV!”

Angos is the writer of the Kapuso teen-romantic-comedy series Luv is Caught in his Arms (LICIHA), which went against FPJBQ during its pilot episode on February 13. FPJBQ beats LICIHA, 12.5 percent vs. 8.5 percent.
Notions about the death of television started when the Duterte government, through its 70 allies in the House of Representatives, killed the ABS-CBN franchise application, causing the network to shut down its free-to-air broadcast.
ABS-CBN’s shutdown has also contributed to less TV viewing, according to a study conducted by Kanta Media in 2022.
Meanwhile, in another tweet, Angos also noted that content creators from opposing sides have already opened their gates to collaboration projects, ushering in new and exciting times for Philippine TV production.
“Add to that is the increasing openness of major content providers (GMA, ABS-CBN, Viu, Quantum etc) to collaborate with each other. A DingdongDantes-CocoMartin starrer is not anymore a farfetch reality. We are entering a new age of Philippine TV. Exciting times ahead!”
