The new pairing of AlJay, lifted from Aljon Mendoza and Jayda Avanzado) in Teen Clash, an e-novel adaptation directed by Gino M. Santos and produced by Black Sheep and iWantTFC, fans of KarJon (Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza) of Pinoy Big Brother: Otso fame could not help but wonder if KarJon has ended.
Mendoza, who still choose to be respectful over his previous loveteam with Bautista is excited how this onscreen pairing with Avanzado will pan out.
In previous interviews, he revealed that he and Bautista have been exploring more opportunities and are supporting each other’s growth.
During the media conference for the limited series, Aljon shared that for this particular project, he has put in a conscious effort to getting to know his Teen Clash co-star better.
“Nung nalaman po namin na magkakaroon kami ng project together, talagang kinilala namin ang isa’t isa. We started texting each other. Inaalam ko ang hobbies n’ya. Kung paano namin tignan ang mga bagay.”
Written by Ilyn Anne Danganan, academe-set Teen Clash will feature leads Avanzado as Zoe and Mendoza as Ice.
Mendoza fleshes out his character Ice and states that he plays a self-professed love cynic, who falls for the feisty musician Zoe, and helps her navigate life and pursue music. To fully embrace his character, he already incorporated a few of Ice’s general quirks in his life, including the music taste.
Mendoza considers Avanzado as his energy booster.
“Every time na may scene kami, tinutulungan talaga niya ako. Halimbawa, may scene na madaling araw ta’s parang lowbat ako, napapahawak lang ako sa kamay niya tapos…’yung love language ko kasi is physical so every time na may hahawak sa kamay ko napi-feel ko ‘yung energy. Nare-recharge ako.”
Apart from Mendoza and Avanzado, included in the cast are Markus Paterson, Kobie Brown, Andi Abaya, Zach Castañeda, Bianca de Vera, Gail Banawis, Fan, Ralph Malibunas, and Luke Alford.
The limited series will be available on March 17.
