Jean Garcia gave a message to her daughter Jennica Garcia as the latter landed a role in ABS-CBN’s latest TV series Dirty Linen.
To recall on January 17, the young Garcia admitted that she planned to be an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) if she would not have any projects anymore.
But after reaching out to ABS-CBN, she was given a role in Dirty Linen.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s Hotspot on February 2, the 33-year-old star shared the message of her mother after she landed the role in the series.
Her mother compared the similarities from her life to her daughter’s saying that they experienced the same career struggles.
“Sabi ni mama ‘alam mo anak, paghusayan mong mabuti’ kasi kung tinitingnan daw niya ngayon, ganitong-ganito daw ang nangyari kay mama noon she was also 32 at that time. I am 33 now eh.”
Her mother explained that she was working in Japan when ABS-CBN contacted her to be a part of the series Pangako Sa’Yo back in 2000.
The role changed her life as the show’s success became her deciding point to quit her job in Japan.
Jennica then said that her mother advised her to do her best in the series.
“Sabi ni mama ‘ikaw ganun din, tumigil ka, ang kaibahan natin ikaw nagtanong ka sa network kung maaari ka nilang kunin tinanggap ka naman nila at binigay sa iyo ang role ni Lala kaya pag-igihan mong mabuti kasi baka maging pareho ang tadhana nating dalawa.'”
On January 30, Jennica went viral on Twitter after receiving compliments for her portrayal in Kapamilya’s recently released TV series Dirty Linen.
