On January 26, Kapuso singer Garrett Bolden revealed that he auditioned for other musicals after his stint in ‘Miss Saigon’ Guam.
At the media conference for his album Chapters, Bolden hinted at his future in theater productions after an international stint. He confirmed, “Yes, yes mayroon naman po tayong mga pinag-aauditionan ngayon. Pero siyempre, para di maudlot, and hopefully, kumbaga mapasok ‘yung mga opportunities pa na ibang theater productions.”
Eventually, he hopes to be part of large theater productions. According to him, he has been dreaming of this happening for a long time, hence his preparations. In addition, he said he wanted to try out teleseryes, movies, and, once again, theatre; this time more elaborate, like Broadway or West End.
Additionally, he cited ‘Miss Saigon’ Guam’s lessons. Bolden shared, “In terms of my career po, like I always say, open ako na matuto ng mga bagong bagay o bagong skill regarding my career, like last year, ‘yung 2022, ‘yung pagpasok ko sa teatro is something new para sa akin.”
In 2022, Bolden was part of the theater production of ‘Miss Saigon’ and portrayed the role of an American GI named John Thomas.
His album, ‘Chapters,’ underscores Bolden’s journey in music and life. It includes singles such as ‘Lilipad Na’, ‘Handa Na Maghintay’, ‘Our Love’, ‘Pwede Pa Ba’, and its lead single, the revival of Kris Lawrence’s song, ‘Ikaw Pala.’
