The Kapamilya actress gave birth to her third child, baby ‘Elio’, in June 2022.
Dimples Romana admitted that she went to work a few months after giving birth to ‘Baby Elio’ in June last year. She revealed, however, that easing back to acting was not as hard as she initially thought it would be. Thanks to The Iron Heart, she revealed the postpartum recovery wasn’t that difficult.
“I am so excited to be part of The Iron Heart, because as you may know, I just gave birth seven months ago. Parang ano siya, mabilisan,na hindi ako ready talaga to have a third child, and then I stopped working,” she told us during our set visit to The Iron Heart set in Cebu on February 6 and 7.
According to Romana, she didn’t hesitate to accept the role, as she was already trying to ease back to work.
“They told me naman that it was just a guest, and it was good because I was easing my way back into acting,“ she said, noting the good comments the show is receiving since its pilot episode last November, 2022.
Romana plays the role of Selene Acosta, one of the major figures under the ‘Tatsulok’ crime syndicate.
The actress shared her excitement doing action, underscoring that The Iron Heart marks the first time she is doing action stunts.
“Nakaka-inspire. First time ko kasi mag-full action series. I’ve done scenes in Block Z before, pero dito kasi, full on. Doon kasi bumabaril ako pero malayo, pero dito kasi, mga tao talaga na hindi zombie,” she shared, giving props to Studio 360, who helped her and the whole cast of the show mount all the action sequences.
“To be part of something that is some would call revolutionary… saka iba ‘yung feel niya, iba ‘yung kuwento. Nakaka-excite,” she added.
Romana agreed that The Iron Heart was a great help in her postpartum recovery.
“As soon as I got told the we were to do action scenes, somehow I had to like, ‘oh okay din para at least I have to try,” she said, sharing that she had guidance on how to protect her back and body safe while doing dangerous action stunts.
“I did try slowly, going into tennis, para lang okay ‘yung coordination ko. I also tried Muay Thai and ngayon nagpi-pilates ako, para medyo slow lang ‘yung ginagawa ko, kasi nga nakita ng doctor ko ang mga pinag-gagawa ko at parang gusto niya akong palurin…’Yun. I guess can call it that, para sa post-partum ko, and The Iron Heart has been helping me a lot through that,” she added.
Teasing the real identity of her character, she said that even she is yet to find out the motivations of Selene. She asked the viewers to stay tuned as the series will unveil more mind-blowing twists in future episodes.
The Iron Heart airs on A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Channel, and streams on Kapamilya Online Live, and iWantTFC, Mondays thru Fridays, 8:45 PM.
