On February 16, Kapuso artist David Licauco asserted that he doesn’t think about the pressure of the success of ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’.
During the media conference for Sparkle artists at Novotel Hotel Gaugin Room in Quezon City, Licauco noted that he tries to avoid overthinking to prepare for future projects. He shared, “Siguro ano, gusto ko lang siya i-take day by day, ayaw ko mag-isip masyado. Kasi nga kapag nag-overthink ka baka, mas magkaroon ka ng anxiety or what.”
As the actor stressed, he needs to constantly work on his acting craft and take care of himself; he needs to exercise in the gym and visit a dermatologist for a skin check. All these preparations are needed for his future projects.
He then shared how he handled the fame that came with the Kapuso serye.
He said fame came so overwhelming as he is an introverted type of person and he is not used to the attention. He appreciates the attention though and claims that his fans know him better than his real friends.
He also acknowledged how lucky he felt landing the role of Fidel in the Kapuso period fantasy. Licauco revealed, “Kumbaga sinuwerte rin lang ako na sa akin nabigay ‘yung role na Fidel and kahit sinong artista na magpe-play ng role na ‘yun, mapupunta rin siya sa situation where I am right now. So, I’m just grateful na sa akin napunta.”
For the amazing shots and the way the story unfolded, the actor lauded the directors and writers.
His series, ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’, starring Barbie Forteza, Dennis Trillo, Julie Anne San Jose, and Licauco, airs its series finale on February 24.
As for his film with fellow Kapuso star Shaira Diaz, ‘Without You’ is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.
