Comedian and TV host Willie Revillame was met with criticism instead of sympathy following his gaslighting speech on his primetime variety show, ‘Wowowin’.
In the February 4 episode of the show, Revillame lamented how some netizens rejoiced over the announcement that some ALLTV programs would be temporarily canceled.
In a guilt-tripping tone, the seasoned TV host appealed to the public to instead pray for them and set aside politics. He remarked, “Ipagdasal niyo kami. Set aside ninyo ‘yung pulitika.”
However, instead of gaining sympathy, many netizens slammed Revillame and called their network’s current situation “karma.”
Pie TV channel host and social media influencer Inah Evans lambasted Revillame in his tweet for calling to set aside politics, saying politics was the very reason why ABS-CBN was denied its franchise renewal. According to the host, “Isantabi niyo ang pulitika’ my anus.

Kapamilya young star Aljon Mendoza also shared his sentiments through a retweet of Revillame’s video clip of them laughing together with Atty. Harry Roque when the ABS-CBN franchise renewal application was denied by the House of Representatives.
He tweeted, “One of the things I like in today’s generation ay mas madali na makakuha ng resibo. I agree, everything is political.”

Blogger Rod Magaru also tweeted about how Revillame and Roque laughed when ABS-CBN ceased its broadcast following its franchise denial.
“I don’t wish for your misfortune Willie. I’ll just remember the way you laugh when 11,000 employees lost their dreams and jobs are the ones getting back to you. And everything is political. Everything.”

Outspoken Kapamilya star Gabriel Valenciano also tweeted saying “I haven’t been as vocal for a while but I can no longer suppress my thoughts. I will just say this. Your power to persuade people through gaslighting your whole life has run out. What goes around will always come back around. Filipinos are waking up, you should too.”

Former ABS-CBN News reporter Kevin Manalo, meanwhile, reiterated how 11,000 jobs were lost due to politics. Manalo emphasized, “Set aside yung politika.’ Did they consider this too when 11,000 media workers/employees were about to lose their jobs?”

Twitter personality @krizzy_kalerqui, on the other hand, didn’t hold back in naming Camille Villar as one of the reasons why the ABS-CBN franchise was denied.

Here are other reactions from the netizens regarding Willie Revillame’s appeal for ALLTV.
Sorry pero…
Set aside ang politika? Pero pumuri ng politiko?
And where was this 'set aside ang politika, tumulong at magpasaya tayo ng tao' energy nung pinapasara ang ABSCBN?
You could have used your clout that time to support those 11,000 workers who were about to..

1. Ano yung 50 million?

Kaya deserve nyo yan. Nagmamakaawa kayo ngayon dahil kayo ang affected? San ka when ABS-CBN was forced to shutdown? Karma is real. Magsara nlng kayo.🤪 https://t.co/ERGA2lBHS0

I've met Kuya Wil twice, and he was really very nice to me both times. But I must disagree with what he said. With respect, Kuya Will, you simply can't ask people to set aside politics to support ALLTV. It was born out of all the political machinations that brought down ABS-CBN. https://t.co/wLqVJqdtwP

Wag pa-victim dyan Willie!
