‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ lived up to its promise with its successful effort making headlines during the pilot week of the Kapuso talk show.
At the media conference for his Kapuso talk show on January 14, television host, publicist, and talent manager, Boy Abunda promised to try and make headlines with each episode. This was through his guests from the roster of GMA Network artists and his friends in showbusiness.
The TV host expressed, “Susubukin tayong gumawa ng headlines. Kung marami sa social media ang nagiging sources ng kwento, hindi ko ihihinto rin, maghahabol din tayo ng kwento. Malay mo makatisod tayo ng balita na sa atin mag-uumpisa. Because–remember we have access to the GMA artists– we have access to our personal friends.”
To maintain credibility, he also pointed out that their program would remain factual. He said he would not jeopardize credibility; he would do a fact check. He furthered, “Kung halimbawa, magbibigay ako ng headline, dadaan ‘yan sa napakaraming tao before I’m able to do a commentary. For example– or an enumeration of headlines for the day.”
He then discussed the flow of the talk show, which included his Fast Talk brand. He commented, “The last part of the show–I know I’m just talking about 15 to 20 minutes of text, but the last part of the show is again a brand that I’m very [strong] in– I’m not saying that I own it, but I think if there’s a brand that identifies me, as a talk show host, is that I am an interviewer.”
Abunda stated that he would be conducting fast talk; news and headlines, commentary, and so on. He also mentioned that the interview segment would be the show’s focal point.
He expressed, “Sa pamamagitan ng mga elementong ito, I am hoping na papasukin kami sa mga tahanan, papasukin kami sa puso ng mga manonood.”
During the pilot week of ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, guests included Marian Rivera, Alden Richards, Bea Alonzo, Glaiza de Castro and David Rainey, and Paolo Contis. Notably, all of the interviews made the news that week.
