GMA Network senior vice president for programming, talent management, worldwide, and support group, and president of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes admitted there are no more network wars; excited to work with ABS-CBN Network.
On February 8, during an interview with Paolo Contis, Gozon declared network war between Kapamilya and Kapuso Network is already in the past.
“Well actually idea ng dad ko, yes. Gustung-gusto ko nakikipag-collaborate with all producers, kaya nga pati from before pa lagi kami may partnership with Regal, Viva lahat ng producers, actually.
“So, ngayon may opportunity na to work with someone we’ve never worked before na siyempre we respect so much also in this industry, so, exciting na exciting! ‘Tapos, ngayon pagkasama namin ‘yung mga tao sa ABS[CBN], parang ano kami barkada. We’re working together to produce something good for the viewers,” she said.
Gozon stressed the idea of collaboration, saying we are also competing with other entertainment content providers outside the country.
“Sabi ko nga, ang idea ngayon, ang dami na natin kalaban all over the world, dapat one Philippines ‘di ba?” she stated.
On January 23, during the story conference of the teleserye, Unbreak My Heart, Gozon shared how much she respected the Lopez-run media company as a content provider.
“We’ve always respected ABS-CBN as a great content creator, a great content producer. We’ve been partnering with many content providers, such as Viva, Regal, and others. So why not ABS, ‘di ba? When the opportunity came up, everything went very smooth; so we’re happy to be working in this soap opera, wherein we are able to combine both Kapamilya and Kapuso talents, so it’s really for the audience,“ she said.
