At the media conference for Tag-Init, which LionhearTV covered on January 9, Viva artist Yen Durano recounted the advice she got from her father, DJ Durano, upon joining Viva Entertainment.
Durano cited that her father supported her career, giving her tips and reminding her to be herself.
“Yes, po, so far supportive naman siya ever since with everything, he knows naman the industry. So for me, I’m just going to get that money, get that bread.
“Just like– be yourself, with acting naman, it’s about reactions talaga. So that’s what–he told me.”
She then mentioned how she told her father about her career decision.
“Hindi po ako nagpa-alam sa kaniya, pinaalam ko lang sa kaniya na, ‘Uy, magVi-Vivamax pala ako ha. Wala ka ng magagawa diyan ha, support ka na lang.’ Ganon. I like to do my own decisions regardless of whoever.”
Durano asserted that she knew what she wanted to do when she signed up with Viva Artist Agency.
“Parang hindi naman ako humihingi ng advice, parang alam ko na ‘yung gusto kong gawin, so ‘yung outside–kahit sino actually, whatever– kung ano lang ‘yung gusto kong gawin, ‘yun ang gagawin ko.”
She then considered her role in Tag-Init one of her most daring movies yet.
“I’d say this is [my] most daring scene that I did– many more to come, but it’s definitely one of the [most daring] scenes that I’ve done. Exciting siya, exciting.”
Tag-Init also stars Franki Russell, Ali Asistio, Clifford Pusing, Aerol Carmelo, Axel Torres, and Marc Acueza.
The Vivamax movie directed by Jose Javier Reyes will stream on January 20 via Vivamax.
