The actress’ return to the genre coincides her being one of the ambassadors of Surge Fitness and Lifestyle Gym.
Sunshine Cruz is not foreign to doings sexy roles.
In fact, her early roles in show business were mostly daring. At 45, the beautiful and talented actress, has long been a Philippine drama staple, playing different character roles on various ‘teleseryes’ and movies. She expressed the feeling of missing the genre during the Surge Masquerade Ball, held lon December 6.
On December 23, her film with Allen Dizon, An Affair to Forget, recently started streaming on Vivamax. Without spoiling too much details, she revealed the film marked her return to the genre, albeit with new restrictions.
“Dito naman sa An Affair to Forget, asawa ko si Allen. Sa Pamilya sa Dilim naman, kapatid ko si Allen, and it’s also with Laurice Guiilen.
“(In An Affair to Forget, Allen Dizon plays as my husband, but in Pamilya Sa Dilim, he’s my brother. We also have Laurice Guillen in the cast),” she shared.
Cruz addressed those who bashed her film even without seeing it, “Panoorin na lang muna nila (I hope they watch it first),” she appealed. She admitted that doing sexy roles again requires adjustment, and she only accepts offers if the story is good. Given that her new film got released under Vivamax, Cruz acknowledged some actors’ hesitancy to accept offers under the streaming service.
“Sinabi kasi sa akin ng producer na meron ngang movie. A lot of actors get scared when they hear ‘Vivamax’. So, kaya ‘yung iba—kahit si Allen eh. Nagulat din siya na we didn’t know na it was for Vivamax.
“(I was told by the producer that there was indeed an offer to do a movie. A lot of actors get scared when they hear Vivamax, which is why many—actually even Allen Dizon got surprised that our movie was for Vivamax. We didn’t know),” she said she got convinced by the story to do the project.
“Sabi ko nga, wala namang problema kahit Vivamax, because…I read the script and it’s nice. The story is really nice, kaya it doesn’t matter.”
She also noted that now that she has three daughters, she already set her restrictions when doing daring roles in her projects.
Cruz will appear in the upcoming Kapuso Afternoon Prime series, Underage, a TV adaptation of the 1980s classic sexy drama of the same title.
