The 45-year-old actress shared how things have been going well between her kids and her ex-husband’s new family.
Sunshine Cruz is happy that she no longer has ill feelings for her former husband, Cesar Montano, whom she annulled her marriage with, in 2013. The couple had three daughters—Chesca, Sam, and Angelina—who, as Sunshine shared, have already rekindled their relationship with the father. It can be remembered Sunshine and Cesar went through bitter post-marriage woes, and she and her kids were notably at odds with him, for years. The ex-couple, however, has worked out and settled their previous rift, and has been slowly moving towards establishing a blended family.
During the Surge Masquerade Ball held at the Manila House, on December 6, Cruz shared that this coming new year, her kids and Cesar’s kids with his current partner, Kath Angeles, have planned to celebrate in Bohol, together. Diego Loyzaga, Montano’s son with actress, Teresa Loyzaga is reportedly joining, too.
“Sa New Year naman, ang plano namin actually nagpapabook ako kanina, we will be spending it, the New Year, December 30 to January 3. I think, in Bohol. Yeah. So magbe-beach kami ng mga kids. I don’t know kung matutuloy pero parang kasama namin si Cesar and mga kids nila also.
“(We’re planning to spend the New Year—from December 30 to January—in Bohol. We’re going to the beach with the kids. I’m not sure yet, but my kids have asked their father and his family to join us also),” answered Cruz when asked about her plans to celebrate the New Year.
Cruz expressed her relief that everything seems to have worked out between her and her ex-husband. “It’s a good thing that everything’s okay na, ah maayos na lahat, nagkakasundo na. Sino ba naman ang ayaw na magkasundo sunod. So okay naman.
“(It’s a good that everything is now okay, that we have settled our rift already. I mean who does not want to be in good terms, anyway?),” she said.
She also noted that she is already content with how things have been going well with Cesar and his new family, and with herself, as well. “I am okay, and very happy. Syempre mas masaya at masarap sa pakiramdam na wala nang hatred, walang tampuhan, walang issue di ba? Lahat naman tayo dumadating sa point na parang nakakapagod din at gusto natin ng payapa.
“(I am okay and very happy. Of course, it feels good that there is no longer hatred between us, no longer ill feelings, no issues. We all arrive to that point where we finally get tired and jwe just want peacefulness in our lives),”she added.
Cruz is currently promoting health and fitness as one of the new SURGE fitness ambassadors. She shared that one of her favorite bonding moment is working out with her daughters.
