Several netizens shared funny tweets about the rumored bulk buying of tickets for Toni Gonzaga’s 20th showbiz anniversary concert.
Gonzaga is set to hold a concert at the Araneta Coliseum on January 20, 2023, to celebrate her 20th year in the industry.
However, rumors are circulating online that the “most-powerful celebrity” has already lost her powers and failed to attract concertgoers.
In fact, according to writer Regee Bonoan in his January 8 column in Bandera, Araneta Coliseum insiders confided in him that Gonzaga’s mother, Mommy Pinty, bought 500 tickets to help boost ticket sales, which are currently in a dismal state.
Taking a cue from the online buzz, netizen @momshiedivine joked about it, saying concert producers should have just chosen the Music Museum or Samsung Theatre as the venue. The reason for this is so that it can be filled with people.
“I feel sad for TONI GONZAGA kasi A-lister siya tas flop concert so need ni Pinty bumili ng 500 tickets. Sana sa music museum or Samsung theater sa circuit Makati nalang siya nagconcert. Pwede rin sa mga comedy bars or gay bars. Pop up nectar o-bar. Pangbotox sana ni Pinty yun eh”

@joseant68824532 also tweeted, asking what happened to the “most powerful” celebrity. The netizen also suggested that Toni ask for blessings from the self-proclaimed anointed son of God, Pastor Quiboloy, who’s a fellow Marcos Jr. supporter.
“True ba, mahina ang bentahan ng ticket sa 20th anniversary concert ni Toni Gonzaga? bandera.inquirer.net Lagapak ang Shopee, Flop ang sine at Bagsak din ang concert (?). Three in a row ng most powerful woman. Anyare sa power? Bakit hindi padasalan kay appointed.”

@napilcalva, meanwhile, tweeted she would just buy onions instead of Toni’s concert tickets.
“Di ko nga afford bumili ng sibuyas mas lalong di ko afford bumili ng ticket sa concert ni Toni Gonzaga.”

On the other hand, @altcristyfermin shared a clip of a netizen impersonating Gonzaga. This clip alludes to what kind of show one can expect from the free tickets from Mommy Pinty.

Meanwhile, if the rumors are true that ticket sales for her upcoming concert are sluggish, then this will be the third time that the “most powerful celebrity” has shown less power, starting from drawing flak for her Shoppe endorsement to the poor performance of ‘My Teacher’ at the Metro Manila Film Festival.
Can last-minute buying save Gonzaga’s concert, or will it be her next flop project?
