Netizens poked fun at Mariel Padilla for her wrong prediction for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) “Best Actress” and “Best Actor” awards.
After watching the premiere night of the film “My Teacher” starring Joey de Leon and Toni Gonzaga on December 25, Padilla took to social media wherein she shared her opinion about the movie.
Sharing a picture with De Leon and Gonzaga, Padilla claimed that the two would bag the “Best Actress” and “Best Actor” awards at this year’s MMFF.
On December 27, the MMFF 2022 “Gabi ng Parangal” event was held to award Filipino films that won in different categories.
Nadine Lustre bagged the “Best Actress” award for her horror film Deleter while Ian Veneracion won “Best Actor” for Nanahimik and Gabi.
On Twitter, netizens made fun of Padilla for her wrong “declaration” for this year’s MMFF top awards.
One netizen even made a play on words saying that MMFF stands for “Miss Mariel’s Film Festival”.
Congrats Toni Gonzaga for winning the MMFF* Best Actress award

I honestly wanted to watch her movie even though she campaigned for BBM. kasi before who she is now, she built her career in showbiz with her skills in acting.

Mariel Padilla praised Toni Gonzaga and Joey de Leon’s performances in the movie “My Teacher.“ She said that Joey and Toni are the “best actor and best actress this MMFF”. (Navalta, Kami)

Meanwhile, “My Teacher” only bagged one award for MMFF 2022 which is the “Gender Sensitivity Award”.
